Holt's handsome Georgian market town streetscape comes with a responsibility to maintain period rooflines properly — and few materials matter more to that than lead.
Holt was largely rebuilt after the fire of 1708, which is why so much of the town centre features consistent Georgian and early Victorian brickwork with slate and plain clay tile roofs. Many of these properties have ornate chimney stacks, parapet copings and concealed valley gutters that rely entirely on lead to stay watertight. Code 5 and Code 6 lead is the right specification for the wider flats and gutter linings found on Holt's grander townhouses, and that is what we use as standard.
We also work on properties in the surrounding area — including Letheringsett and Brinton — where older farmhouses and converted barns often have complex roof junctions requiring bespoke lead work. If you have noticed damp patches on a chimney breast or ceiling below a valley, call us for a free lead work survey in Holt.
